MStore retail operations to grow from 300 outlets to over 2,000 outlets by 2020. The expansion will make it the largest mobile and electronics retailer in Africa.
MStore currently has a presence across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Nigeria, Ghana and Togo. The retail expansion will see the store increase its presence in these markets and enter new markets, including Chad, Ivory Coast and Senegal. Mr. Akash Kumar, Midcom Group’s managing director, said: “The expansion of MStore is the latest realization of that growth strategy, which any other international organization moving into these markets would struggle to replicate. “The expansion of MStore will support another of our businesses, FERO, the line of mobile phones we recently launched, by providing full sales and technical support to Fero customers across our markets.” Midcom Group’s new Fero range of mobile phones are designed in the UAE specifically for Africa and Middle East markets, offering 16 models. The retail store also provides technical support for customers facing issues with their devices, with a 48 hour turnaround time guarantee to resolve customer issues.
