We unveiled our new smartphone, Fero Iris, in the Kenyan market. Fero Iris comes with a unique security feature that allows users to unlock their screens using their eyes. The device also features a 5-inch HD display with 1GB RAM, powered by a 2500mAh battery. Speaking during the launch of the Fero Iris device in Nairobi, Fero Mobile Head of International Marketing Vivek Chaudhary said the brand is focused on introducing innovative solutions that are designed to enhance the customer experience. This new technology provides unrivaled convenience to users and allows them to interact with their devices even in extreme conditions
Mr Chaudhary noted that with these innovations, Fero Mobile is aiming to increasing productivity among users and give them a new experience. “FeroMobile’s development strategy is driven by a blend of technological innovation, consumer upgrade cycles and our business and marketing needs,” he explained, adding: “The smartphone market is saturated with new advanced features every day. This demands for smart and fresh ideas for predecessors of each phone.” According to International Data Corporation (IDC), global smartphone sales went up by 2.3 per cent to 1.47 billion units in 2016, leading device vendors to tap into advanced technologies and innovations for emerging smartphones. A partnership deal with online retailer Jumia was announced which makes Fero devices available across the country. The deal will enable consumers to get the devices at competitive prices. Fero Iris is available on Jumia at a retail price of Kshs 9,000. He noted that the Kenyan smartphone market has continued to experience substantial growth as a result of combination of a strong economic climate and increasing internet and mobile connectivity. In her remarks, Jumia’s Head of Mobile Phones – Sanaz Abaie said the Kenyan mobile phone market offers a favorable competitive landscape, giving consumers a wide range of choice and an opportunity for brands to innovate even more. In addition to its Iris technology, the new smartphone is 4G LTE-enabled and comes equipped with a high resolution 5.0 inch, 1280 x 720 HD IPS+ display. It also has a 2500 mAh Battery, Quad core processor and an 8MP back camera.

MiDCOM group held its third successive annual Diwali Scramble Golf Tournament on the 29th of October 2016 at the picturesque Majlis course at Emirates Golf club. Every year, this event draws avid golfers from all over the UAE and this year was no different as this year witnessed a fabulous turnout of 128 players. Gokul Mani, Pavan Nihalani, Ian McDonald and June Mcdonald combined well on the Majlis course to make an array of birdies and win the Midcom Diwali Scramble with a 58.2 tally. The competition was strong with only 0.4 points separating the top three teams. Stathis Stathis, Haris Michaelides, Naima Maya and Tania Sangani signed for a 58.5 total to take runners-up place. Ishu Rupani, Harish Rupani, Ed Hesson and Eddie Hesson also produced an excellent display with a 58.6.
The event was followed by games were and a cultural extravaganza where there were special Bhangra and Contemporary dance performances showcased by students of a well-known dance academy in Dubai. The evening concluded with a grand gala dinner and party that carried on till the wee hours of the night. A special thank you to all the participants and guests for their support and enthusiasm.
